Soul Chic rocking the Runway for the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Week

Art du Jour by Leiela presented The Live Gallery as part of VAMFF 2014 Cultural Program, proudly supporting the youth charitable organisation, Kids Under Cover.

It’s an evening of sumptuous theatrics with a fusion of entertainment, high fashion, art and appetising fine delights with an opening ballet performance choreographed by Ballet Theatre Australia accompanied by the opera talent and designer, Valentina Dobric. With the jazz and soul sound of ‘Soul Chic’, they enlightened us with their new original Song “A New Found Love in Me” and various other songs to compliment the elaborate runway show, featuring local designers and artists including Leiela, DIZINGOF, Envoy London, Andrea Agosta Designer Jewellery, Melissa Richards Millinery, Urbbana, Sleep Couture, Lana Volkov Shoes, My Macaron and more.

Special guests will include Fatai (The Voice), Angela Kennedy (MKR), Alyce Platt (Entertainer), and Jennifer Carreno (Film Producer). Celeste Billinge, who became a household name in the 80’s, will act as Auctioneer for items generously donated by event partners and sponsors to raise money for Kids Under Cover.

The iconic formal gown artisans Leiela present Art du Jour by Leiela – creative events celebrating the synergy between fashion and art. Art du Jour launched itself full speed into the fashion world with the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2013 Cultural Program.

Collaborating with creatives to host public and corporate events, involving performers, artists, film-makers, boutique brands, local businesses and beauty professionals. Art du Jour is now a forward-thinking catalyst for generating work, inspiration, creation, innovation and a revitalisation of the notions of partnerships and integration.

Soul Chic collaborates with Lorenzo Ianotti to raise funds for Belarus

Songwriters Lorenzo Iannotti & Michelle Schembri-Lipscombe have written and recorded the song ‘Blue Sky Angels’ to raise money for the organisation  Blue Sky Talent Company in Minsk, Belarus featuring Nardia Brancatisano and Georga Byrne from Soul Chic.

The song ‘Blue Sky Angels’ has a twofold message in its lyrics – to tell the story of the pain and suffering this community has endured through the lingering effects of the war and to commend the orgnaisation Blue Sky Talent Company for  the amazing work they provide to orphanages, homes for people with disabilities and re-connecting families that have been parted through the war.

‘Blue Sky Angels’ was launched at the Bloom Entertainment by Design Fundraising Event – Bloom to Belarus on October 11 2013 and performed by LORENZO.

All proceeds from the sale of the recording will be donated to Blue Sky Talent Company to provide assistance to their ongoing music programs and is now available on ITunes at https://itunes.apple.com/au/album/blue-sky-angels/id778885993?i=778886153

SOUL CHIC performing at Beyonce’s Pre-Show “Mrs. Carter World Tour”…

Melbourne’s very own ‘Soul Chic’ has just been announced to support Beyonce at her Pre-Show after huge success with ‘Pink’s The Truth About Love Tour’ where they performed at 15 shows.

Beyonce’s ‘The Mrs Carter Show’ will be bigger then ever and it is now coming to Australia. This has been the most talked about show as it has enjoyed huge success through Europe & North America including a massive sell out in London.

Known for their unique interpretations of Pop, Jazz & Soul songs, they will be setting the pre-vibe to the concert complimented with cocktails. It doesn’t stop here as they will also be playing some of Beyonce’s songs with their own unique twist. Think Beyonce’s hit song “All the Single Ladies” represented acoustially in a Jazz version and Destiny’s Child “Say my name” with Vocal loops.

Currently in the process of writing a new album, Soul Chic are working in the background with their 7 piece band and will announce the release of their album early next year. Nardia & Georga spent last year travelling around Europe, which is where they found inspiration to write their songs. This album is one to look out for with the smooth sounds of jazz, Blues & Soul blended into one.

These are a few of our favourite things… Keep posted for photos and audios from the show!

Rocking Albert Park to Raise Money for Cancer

On April 27th Soul Chic donated their time to participate in a Charity organization event that is close to many of our Australian’s Hearts, the Cancer council. We felt privileged to be a part of this event and really enjoyed a beautiful sunny day playing on the main stage at the Albert Park Lake. We played with our full band including a very special guest “Carl Lewis” on drums from Savage Garden. We thank those who came to support us and we pray for those that are affected by this disease. Let’s keep raising awareness to keep this good cause going!!
